Book Reviews for The Biology of the Honey Bee |
The Biology of the Honey Bee by Mark L. Winston
If you are looking for a book to take you to the next level of understanding bee behavior and biology, this is it. Although full of technical and detailed information, it is written such that the layman can easily understand what is being said. I found this book to full of little gems of knowledge that I did not know and my awe and appreciation of these little insects is increased from this reading.
The chapters include evolutionary history, geographical spread, form and function, nutrition, nest construction, activities, chemical communication, food collection, swarming and reproduction, and many others. Truly a fantastic read, my copy is littered with sticky notes for later reference.
